30 Seconds to Mars
A Beautiful Lie (2005)

So, this band are unknown to many, yet the front man is one of my favourite actors and I'm sure many of you know him as well.

Jared Leto star of Indie flick Requiem for a Dream, and up and coming block buster Chapter 27 for which he gained he about four stone for. This band are only available on import from the states (as far as I know), but some how their music found its way to me! And I'm glad it did.

The album its self is the second from the band and offers the listener a new mix, boarder lining 'Emo' (I hate that word) with a more traditional rock. I fell they have the mix just right and it makes for a very enjoyable listen.

The title track "A Beautiful Lie" is well worthy, and the other tracks that make up the album compliment it perfectly, paying specific attention to "Attack" and "The Kill". Track 12 on the album "The Hunter" is written by Bjork, so as you can probably guess its a wee bit strange and undoubtedly one of the albums weaker points.

As this is an American import you can guess that there are a few problems which arise with the disc itself, of which the main one is actually playing it.

If like myself you are an avid itunes user, the album wont burn on to it, but prefers to be played in its own personal player which auto runs off the CD. If on the other hand u use a CD player like a normal person, ignore that last point.

All in all the album is a very good mix of guitar riffs and vocal harmonies, and Jared Leto doesn't disappoint either.
