Lostprophets
Liberation Transmission (2006)

It’s been a while since the Prophets released any new material so this was an eagerly anticipated album, especially for those who enjoyed the classics from previous years such as 'Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja' and 'Last Train Home'.

This latest offering features the current single Rooftops which is rapidly becoming an anthem around UK Indie nightclubs.

I have mixed feelings about this album. On the downside I share the opinion of many that the Prophets have become too commercial over the years and this album proves it in my opinion. It is bordering on being an Emo album on a few of the tracks and for that to happen to a rock band of the Lostprophets calibre is a bit of a shame really. I’m sure many of their original fans will feel a little disappointed by this.

On the plus side, it undoubtedly has some fantastic and uplifting tracks on it which I have grown to love. As well as the single, Rooftops, the album features a couple of other tracks which I think are well worth a listen. Everybody’s screaming and A town called hypocrisy.

So overall a good album, some really good tracks and a lot to like about it but for me it is too mellow and a tad commercial for a Lostprophets album.
