JUB
Fertilize This - EP (2006)
Fertilize this is the debut EP from JUB who originate
from Bath with band members coming from all across the UK. They have
been together for nearly 2 years now, playing on the live circuit a lot
around their local area, winning battle of the bands competitions and
producing great music. It is clear to see from this EP that they are set
for success, their music is making a mark on the music scene and they
already have a huge fan base from all over the country and beyond.
The EP was produced by the band themselves, the 4 tracks that feature
are from one to the next really great, each having a different vibe and
style to them. ‘Dancing Embers’ really gets the tracks off to a flying
start with a very catchy riff on keys, through to ‘Wake Up’ that becomes
almost like an anthem with the lyrics being called out ‘wake up, wake
up’ which will have any listener singing along in no time. All the
tracks from this EP will be with you from the moment you first listen to
them.
The bands sound has been said to be “…reminiscent of the Foo Fighters
combining the likes of Audioslave's riffs with Jimmyeatworld's catchy
melodies”. So if these bands interest you, keep and eye out for JUB in
the coming months, 2007 is going to be a massive year for them. This is
a great EP, and their debut alarm, ‘Conception’ is due out in coming
months and is likely to be even better than this.
